Midsummer Horse Fair
There’s a small area in Northern Tuscany where every summer a horse fair takes place.
The predominantly wild landscape, the right natural light and the deep connection I found between horses and riders, that all pushed me to work on this series initially in 2011 and again in 2014 and 2015.
Biography
Paola Serino, born and based in Rome, is a portrait photographer.
She works almost exclusively with medium format film cameras on personal projects. Beyond the themes she decides to pursue, through her work she is interested in exploring the formal beauty and the natural charm of her subjects and at the same time the emotional proximity to them.
She has been awarded and selected as finalist in several Italian and international competitions including in 2017 the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize.
Her work has been on show at personal and collective exhibitions since 2005.
